Carson Beach via the Boston Harbor Walk Map

Starting and finishing at Pleasure Bay Beach, this is an excellent out-and-back hike which leads you along Carson Beach to the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library.

Description

Carson Beach is famous for its sandy shoreline, exceptional views of Boston Harbor, and proximity to the city centre. That proximity allows the hike to be accessed by public transit, so this trip can be done as a linear route if you get yourself organised and are able to navigate the required transport systems.

At the far end of the beach is Harbor Point and, just beyond that, the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library, complete with a replica of the Oval Office and a section of the Berlin Wall. After the natural wonders you'll have enjoyed en route to the Library, the cultural interest it provides makes for a nice contrast. Spend a few hours exploring the Library and then either head back into Boston on the public transit system, or retrace your steps back to Pleasure Bay Beach.
