Skitour to Rifugio Auronzo at the Tre Cime di Lavaredo Map

A classic tour for ski mountaineering beginners, in one of the most spectacular landscapes of the Dolomites.

Description

From the car park of restaurant Chalet Lago d’Antorno (1.880 m), follow the easy beaten track, which in summer is the access route to the famous Tre Cime di Lavaredo. As you climb up, the path, firstly surrounded by woods, starts to reveal a majestic view on the peaks around it. With a quick detour from the track, it is possible to stop at Malga Rin Bianco for a short pause. Once arrived at the mountain hut Rifugio Auronzo (2.333 m), the landscape does not need any introduction: from Mount Cristallo to Cadini di Misurina, from Croda dei Toni to Sesto’s Dolomites; the sight will get lost in the enchanting white wonderland.

The descent could be done skiing down the same route or, for a more exciting return, searching for the best powder along the slopes.

How to reach the starting point

From Cortina, take the road towards Misurina - Tre Croci Pass. After Lake Misurina, turn right towards “Tre Cime di Lavaredo”. After approximately 1.5 km you will see on your left the restaurant Chalet Lago d’Antorno with a spacious free car park.

VARIATIONS

From the mountain hut Rifugio Auronzo, it is possible to continue towards the mountain huts Rifugio Lavaredo and Rifugio Locatelli. The most expert skiers can accomplish the full tour of Tre Cime.
