Plattweg Trail Map

The Plattweg Trail is a classic enduro-style single trail in the 3-Länder region, above the picturesque town of St Valentin, Italy.

Description

Treating you to breathtaking views of the South Tyrolean mountains and Lake Resia, the trail traverses north, winding through a peaceful forest.

As you're racing through the trees, you'll catch glimpses of the bright blue Lake Resia below you.

To access the start of the trail from the Haideralm gondola lift station, either follow the start of the Haideralm Trail to your left, or take the fire-road to your right. You'll see a sign-post pointing you in the direction of the trailhead and here the fun begins!

The trail is full of roots, rocks, wood bridges and fast flowy sections, with some small uphill sections thrown in for the enduro-lovers.

Classified as an intermediate level and definitely tricky in sections, it is certainly manageable for beginners who want to take it slow.

Eventually you'll come out in a big opening, from where you can join the Lower Spin Trail, and choose to return either to Haiderlam for another lap via the Grein Trail or head in the opposite direction on the Gorf Trail, taking you to the Schöneben lift.
