We were well rested after sumptuous and comfortable accommodation and a lavish breakfast. The first climb passed relatively easily up the remote valley to the E of S-Charl. A privilege though it was, we were now so used to the complete solitude of our journey, it was more unusual to come across another ski tourer than not. On this occasion we were, as usual, completely alone, revelling in the pristine beauty of wild and unknown summits all around.

Description
We climbed to a high shoulder of Piz Rims, the summit just above us at 3066m. The NE facing descent was steep, but lovely snow in oblique morning sunshine, down to the Sesvenna Hut below, in Italy, at 2258m, another cool hut to revisit for the numerous surrounding objectives. A steady climb followed to the summit of the Rasassspitz (yes it does have 3 s’s) then another NE facing descent down the long Rojental to the Reschenpass, one of the lowest passes crossing the main Alpine ridge, at about 1500m. A long walk up the road took us our overnight B B, passing a spooky 14th century church that was submerged in the huge reservoir, now icebound, flooded in the construction of the damn and evicting hundreds of locals in the process.
