Il sentiero parte ai piedi di Castelluccio di Norcia e si incammina lungo la via Imperiale, passando attraverso la forca del monte Argentella per poi arrivare gradualmente alla Cima del Redentore. Da lì la discesa riprende all'interno della gola fino ai Laghi di Pilato. Si costeggia poi la fiancata est del redentore, molto scoscesa, per tornare alla forca iniziale e imboccare nuovamente il sentiero di ritorno.
