Il suggestivo nevaio della Conca del Sambuco è ubicato sotto la possente mole del Pizzo d'Intermesoli (2635m.) nella catena del Gran Sasso D'Italia, in un circo glaciale bellissimo compreso tra le quote di 2030 e 2070 m s.l.m. Il circo è racchiuso fra le tre cime di Picco Pio XI 2282 m., la Vetta settentrionale d'Intermesoli 2483 m. e il più alto Pizzo Intermesoli 2635 m.
