The Dolomites are all spread out across the North-East side of Italy and, little bit further away from the most common locations, you can find the Brenta Dolomites which - even if not directly connected with the main Dolomites area - are just as beautiful and have different, interesting ski lines and couloirs which are famous all over Europe. This particular route is one of the easiest to access and to ski in the Grostè area, just next to Madonna di Campiglio ski resort. The landscapes up there are amazing and it’s the perfect choice on a sunny day as the whole plateau benefits of a really nice exposition to the sun rays.

Description

To get to the top of this peak, you could either start from town and hike up on the groomers until the top of the ski resort or jump on the Grostè gondola which will drop you exactly where the track starts from: here you will move your first steps off piste into the lunar landscape that this plateau offers you and moving towards south, precisely towards Cima Grostè. The climb never gets too steep and it is a good option for those who are moving their first steps into the backcountry too.

Once at the top you could either ski down back to the resort or - as suggested in this route - ski a chute which leads in a parallel valley for then traversing back to Madonna di Campiglio ski area lower down the slopes.
