Kepi bard 2589m (Korab) Map

One of the ski classics on Korab. The line ascends the borderline peak Kepi Bard (2589m). The ascend is interesting and demanding in deep snow. There are some frozen sections, where crampons are necessary, especially the last section before topping out on the summit ridge line. Interesting and very adventurous line for ski mountaineering. The skiing down is amazing long and beautiful line. It goes down trough the gully of Korabska Mlaka and in usual seasons you can ski down to the start point till mid or late of April. The line is with approximate 870 vertical meters. The best season is from mid February till mid April. Starting from March skiing down should be before noon for safety maters and the best snow, as in the afternoons is known to become slushy and slow. Due the altitude crust is formed once the shadow covers the terrain. Standard avalanche gear should be taken in consideration (beacon, probe, shovel, and possibly airbag backpack)
