If you don’t want to hike the usual 7km around the lake of Osredak i highly recommend you this one! I made it in mid of October with the first snow and it was really really beautiful. You will pass by many small lakes where the water is drinkable and the views are just great! Be aware that at some points you shouldn’t be afraid of heights, because the route is directly at a mountain ridge. You also can shorten it whenever you want to, because many small hiking paths are crossing the whole area!

Description

Some tips: I was sleeping with my car at the starting point. There is a closed restaurant, which probably is only open during the winter for skiing! I had an absolutely amazing sunrise, because the clouds were still over Zabljak, but the sun was rising. I can definitely recommend it!

The Black Lake: Posterchild for the Durmitor National Park, if not Northern Montenegro as a whole, the lake is a slice of beautiful piercing blue set against the dramatic backdrop of thick forests and the imposing so-called Bear Peak. But there is not only the black lake, there are two others, the beautiful and secluded Snake Lake (which was named for its leeches and not for actual snakes) and finally Jablan Lake, which can be viewed from the very, very high ridge above it. From the ridge i had an incredible view of the whole area, including all three lakes i had seen. Definitely one of the best hikes I’ve ever done.
