This well-formed untechnical uphill trail follows the Estuary Burn river up the valley from the lodge. It is a great opportunity for guests to make their way into a high elevation alpine environment of approximately 1300m above sea level. This trail takes guests into sections of Minaret Station that are great for spotting chamois, wild deer, kea and other native birds. Near the end of the trail there is a fork that splits the track into either the left or right branch of the Estuary Burn. Both options have spectacular views and are similar in length to their termination points. Weather/exposure at this elevation is extreme and highly changeable, there is little to no shelter so ensure the correct preparation has been done.
