Rude Rock Loop Map

Rude Rock is a legendary trail that every advanced rider should experience at least once. It's a 3km downhill blast that follows the natural contours of the rocky slopes of Coronet Peak, with sweeping turns, optional jumps and drops, and breathtaking views of the mountains and valleys.

Description

Rude Rock is accessed via the Coronet Peak ski area road, about 15km from Queenstown. You can shuttle up to the start of the trail, or pedal up if you're feeling fit. The trail begins just above the base buildings and immediately drops into a series of smooth berms and rollers. The trail then traverses the hillside, with some exposed sections that require caution on windy days. The trail offers plenty of opportunities for airtime, with natural features and man-made jumps that can be rolled or boosted. The trail ends just before the Skippers Canyon access road, where you can either shuttle back up or continue on to Morning Glory and Hot Rod for more fun.

Rude Rock is a classic natural trail that showcases the best of Queenstown's terrain and scenery. It's fast, fun and flowy, with a perfect balance of challenge and reward. It's one of the most popular trails in the area, and for good reason. It's a must-do for any true mountain biker visiting Queenstown.
