One of the best mountaineering day-trips in the country at its grade, Rome Ridge will take you through beech forest to a sub-alpine ridge for dawn, cross the Gap and tackle the crux section re-gaining Rome Ridge proper. Relish the next few hundred metres to the summit of Mt Rolleston Low Peak. Optional side trip to the High Peak. Descend Otira Slide.
