Garden Key, Bush Key, and Long Key Map

To get the most out of Dry Tortugas National Park, you should bring a sea kayak if you can. That’s the way to cover more miles and reach remote reefs for snorkeling or fishing. The route mapped here is a simple loop around Garden Key and the adjacent keys. Long Key is a critical breeding ground for sea birds and a great place to view them from a distance. The island is closed to the public for that reason, but you can paddle around it. Certain areas on the water are restricted seasonally as well, as special protection zones for marine life. Be sure to inquire at park headquarters about any closures. You will also need to know the kayak permit and safety requirements ahead of time.
