The 360-degree view from the top of Grosser Mythen can offer a sunrise experience you will have a hard time forgetting. It might be a challenge getting up in the morning and setting off on a hike in the dark, but you can be sure of one thing: it’s worth it!

Grosser Mythen is a popular and beautiful mountain to visit throughout the day. Especially attractive, though, is its sunrise. Even the hike up in the dark can be quite fun, spotting other headlights wandering toward the same destination. It is quite an exciting adventure! Moreover, this makes the view at the final destination even more amazing, as you have not seen it already throughout the hike up.

The trail to the top is proper and guides you straight there, so getting there should not be a problem for anyone with some hiking experience. Yet, it is worth mentioning that those afraid of heights might have a harder time, as the mountain is quite steep on all sides.

After reaching the highest point, it is finally time to enjoy breakfast with an astonishing horizon and a cup of something hot to drink. If you go there during the seasonal time in the summer, it is even possible to buy something fresh in the small restaurant on top.

If you decided to go up for sunrise, make sure to check when it is forecasted, so that you can ensure you get there in time for the most dazzling sunrise you have had! On the way down again you will finally also get the chance to enjoy the trail and the awesome views it offers. There is no doubt that all the fun didn’t end when reaching the peak!

Hiking challenging trails where simple scrambling, with the occasional use of the hands, is a distinct possibility. The trails are often filled with all manner of obstacles both small and large, and the hills are very steep. Obstacles and challenges are often unexpected and can be unpredictable.
