This is a popular ski touring route which is generally considered to be moderate. It's remote, it features low exposure (e1) and is typically done between December and March. From a low point of 2 km to the maximum altitude of 3.4 km, the route covers 5.8 km, 1466 vertical metres of ascent and 27 vertical metres of descent. It's graded 2.1 and Labande grade 2. You'll need rope and skins to complete it safely.

Description

The 'small' Breithorn is a good beginners alpine tour, granting you a stunning panorama into the surrounding 4000ers. 30 minutes into the tour is the only technical section of the ascent, and below the Breithorn peak, be prepared to do a final ascent over the glacier.
