The Zürichsee-Weg (Lake Zurich trail) is a wonderful way to explore Zurich’s glistening lake and its surrounding woodlands, streams, marshlands and historical gems. Come across castles with mountain backdrops, elegant villas with sandy beaches to take a dip and medieval villages to welcome you in for a pitstop on this epic 10 stage circular hike. Follow the signposts for Swiss Mobility 84 all the way around.
Description
The second stage of the route is full of nature. The first part takes you down the Sihl river into the Sihl woods. These woods have the largest contiguous mixed deciduous forest in the Swiss Mittelland. Find out about the different species of the flora and fauna in the woodland in the Sihlwald Nature Centre. From there follow the Höhenweg Path on to Horgen, enjoying spectacular views of the lake as you go.
