This is a popular ski touring route which is generally considered to be difficult. It's an unknown remoteness, it features medium exposure (e2) and is typically done between January and April. From a low point of 801 m to the maximum altitude of 1.1 km, the route covers 588 m, 8 vertical metres of ascent and 344 vertical metres of descent. You'll need rope, skins, ice axe and crampons to complete it safely.

Description

This fine gully line gives a fine drop from close to the summit of Lochnagar down to the loch below. Beware of a large cornice, but entry can usually be made on the left.
