Banana Gully Map

Atmospheric gully line under a rock face which can be used as a more testing entry point to explore Caenlochan. The conditions lower down in the gully are difficult to predict and they cannot be assessed from the entry point. Taking crampons to climb out of the gully in case of bad conditions lower down is definitely recommended.

Description

Also, the gully contains numerous rollers and is prone to windslabs.

The gully is best accessed from Glas Maol and starts right at the col between Glas Maol and Little Glas Maol. There is an alternative entry that is more rocky and can "cliff-out"-- it is thus more serious and its entry just before the col between Banana Gully and Banana Gully Direct.
