This hike starts and ends at the Angelsey Abbey carpark, and begins with a tour of the Abbey itself and its gardens. How and in which order you explore these is up to you, so take our line with a pinch of salt and simply wander where your interest takes you.

Having explore thoroughly, head back to the carpark and then begin the main section of this hike which begins with an enjoyable stroll to the beautiful little Fairhaven Bridge and then alongside Quy Water to the Stone Bridge at the edge of Stow Cum Quy village.

Either detour to the village itself, or continue on your journey to the Stow cum Quy Fen nature reserve, a peaceful and beautiful spot full of flora and fauna. There's a memorial stone here (which is marked on the OS Map) to a young man called William Ison who was killed here in 1873 after being struck by lightning.

Take some time to enjoy the serenity before slowly pottering back to Lode for an afternoon drink in the village. With Cambridge so close by, you'll have plenty of options for cultural nourishment in the days to come!
