The Bull Pasture Trail is one of the best hikes in Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument. This beautiful trail forms an approachable 2.6-mile loop through the lower reaches of the Ajo Mountains, providing spectacular views of the surrounding desert. From the upper reaches of the trail, you can see across the Sonoyta Valley into Mexico and towards the Puerto Blanco Mountains.
Description
While this loop is quite approachable, expect to encounter some steep, loose switchbacks, rough rocks, and sandy sections. You'll also need to be prepared for the dry, hot desert environment, even in the middle of winter. Bring more water than you think you need, and be sure to hike early in the day when it's cooler.
