Part of what makes this route so worthwhile is the exhilaration that it provides. This is no simple hike by any means. Rather, you must carefully navigate through the ins and outs of the canyon. You will likely have to use your hands at points, which makes it all the more exciting. The area around Mooney Falls, for instance, features tunnels through the rock that you must crawl through.

If you have the time, swimming at Mooney Falls is highly recommended. The water isn't too deep and is perfect for relaxing. For those motivated, continuing onto Beaver Falls is the next challenge. The crowds will thin out a ton, too, following Mooney.

The Beaver Falls are majestic: they form a near-perfect staircase of turquoise waterfalls. There aren't many other places in the world where you will witness a site like this. Beaver Falls presents a terrific break spot, and some may use this as the final destination for a day trip. But for the hardy, the final stretch to the Colorado River awaits.

The going doesn't get any easier from Beaver Falls to the Colorado, but the excitement builds. Seeing the junction of the turquoise water with the thicker and rugged Colorado is a sight to behold. There are some rapids to view, too. Take your time here, as you've earned the remoteness. Once ready, make your way back through the canyon and up to the Havasu Falls Campground.

This route makes for an epic day trip from the Havasu Falls area and should not be missed! It is awe-inspiring to begin the day at Havasu Falls, traverse past Mooney and Beaver Falls, and then conclude at the Colorado River. This route has adventure written all over it!
