If you are looking for a relaxing and scenic paddle trail near Auburn, California, you might want to check out the Lake Clementine Paddle Trail. This 4.2-mile point-to-point trail takes you from Upper Lake Clementine to Lower Lake Clementine, along the North Fork American River. You can also do it in reverse or as an out-and-back from either launch.

Description

The trail is ideal for fishing and paddle sports, such as kayaking, canoeing, or stand-up paddle boarding. You will enjoy the views of the river, the forest, and the wildlife along the way. You might even spot some bald eagles or ospreys flying overhead.

One of the highlights of the trail is the North Fork Dam, where you can see water cascading over the dam into a deep pool below. This is a great spot to take a break and admire the beauty of nature.

The trail is open from April to October, and dogs are not allowed due to high cyanobacteria counts in the lake. You will need a high clearance vehicle to access the Upper Lake Clementine launch, which is only open for day use. The Lower Lake Clementine launch allows motorized vessels, so be careful of them as you get closer to it.

The Lake Clementine Paddle Trail is a hidden gem for a nearby hiking trail that offers a peaceful and panoramic experience. Whether you are looking for a solo adventure or a family outing, this trail will not disappoint you.
