If the summit hike is open, then an alternative to The Lake Chutes is to just ski the upper portion of Imperial Bowl. The drop directly off the summit will be steep, but manageable and the cornice that runs along Peak 8 ridge will be small if not non-existent, making this a very enjoyable run. This a great option for those who realized that The Lake Chutes were too much once they got up to the summit. In terms of comparing this to Imperial Bowl, this Upper Section is a steeper for sure, but those who are able to do Imperial Bowl should be able to do this. Relatively speaking, this run is on par with some of the lines in Horseshoe Bowl in terms of difficulty.
