Capitol Creek Big Loop from Crystal


If you park at Bogan Flats, this the the secluded route to make the big loop in 5-6 days. If Hiked Counter Clockwise, Geneva Lake and Snowmass Lake have fire restrictions, but its wilderness after that besides being adjacent to some ranch land on the bend towards Haystack Mountain, Try to avoid camping at Capitol Lake in the cooler months, better to push it to Avalanch Lake if there is time. .

This is a popular hiking route which is generally considered to be difficult. It's extremely remote, it features medium exposure and is typically done in June, July, August and October. From a low point of 2.3 km to the maximum altitude of 3.8 km, the route covers 79 km, 4143 vertical metres of ascent and 3403 vertical metres of descent.
