This is the designated route for skinning up Crested Butte. Access is allowed before 8:45am and after 4:30pm, during the operating season only. A pass is not required, but you must agree to the Uphill Access Policy and obey all posted info on the mountain.
Description
The route follows Lower Keystone, a long green which feeds into blue Upper Park for 1000 feet of vertical. Above that is Yellow Brick Road, a cat track that leads around to Paradise Bowl. If control work is underway, the terrain above Upper Park is usually closed, indicated by signs and lights along the route. If it is open you can follow the Yellow Brick Road across the bowl, and wind upward to the top of Silver Queen Express chair. Then you'll enjoy a well-deserved descent of 2000 feet back to base.
