Description

Imagine Mile High Stadium with powder overflowing the walls. Then imagine that stadium 10x larger. Well this backcountry section is sure to get your game face on. You will hike 10-30 mins from the chained cat track trailhead. The hike is flat with some ascent the longer you go.

After 2000ft you can descend through the glades that will be intermixed with rock bands. If you drop in too soon before this, you will encounter cliffs so scout and take caution! Just past the cliffs you will find steeper glade runs through rock bands. With terrain knowledge and a good fluffy base, this section can be fun! Hike farther out, 3000-4000ft, past the cliff band and you will find a safer tree glade with a more mild pitch. You have gone to far if you ski under the “Bald Spot” dome. In considerable Avy conditions, this section can pose a runoff threat for those riding in the apron.
