This is a popular ski touring route which is generally considered to be severe. It's remote, it features medium exposure (e2) and is typically done between March and May. From a low point of 3.4 km to the maximum altitude of 3.7 km, the route covers 633 m, 12 vertical metres of ascent and 236 vertical metres of descent. It's graded 4.1 and Labande grade 4. You'll need skins to complete it safely.

Description

Climb the face just above Heart Lake, or any other approach to the summit of Heartbeat Peak. The face above the lake is around 45° at steepest, but may have a mellow entrance to skier's left.

Steep skiing at 38-45 degrees. This requires very good technique and the risk of falling has serious consequences.
