Go as far as County Road 107 allows out of Allenspark. Take the road on the right as it switches back a few times. It might be kind of bare down here, but it's sure to be deeper a bit further up. Follow the Saint Vrain Mountain Trail as far as you want to go, and descend back down through the fun trees. You could descend from St. Vrain Mountain, but it's often wind-blown crud.
