This is a popular ski touring route which is generally considered to be severe. It's very remote, it features medium exposure (e2) and is typically done between April and May. From a low point of 3.5 km to the maximum altitude of 4 km, the route covers 1.2 km, 3 vertical metres of ascent and 562 vertical metres of descent. It's graded 3.2 and Labande grade 4. You'll need skins and crampons to complete it safely.

Description

The line skis from the summit, but typically melts out at the very bottom somewhat early. Go to the north side of Blue Lake on the Mitchell Lake Trail, and climb the option looker's right of Crooked Couloir.

Severe

Steep skiing at 38-45 degrees. This requires very good technique and the risk of falling has serious consequences.
