Don't even try this is there wasn't recent snow, or it's past March. From the Wild Basin winter trailhead, follow the road to the ranger station. Take the main trail just past the Copeland Falls and turn north. The snow is usually really thin here, so pick carefully where you're going to go. Generally follow the creek, and you'll come across the pillows (a.k.a. the only part of this line that was remotely worth it!).
