Hike farther out, 3000-4000ft, past the cliff band and you will find a safer tree glade with a more mild pitch. You have gone to far if you ski under the “Bald Spot” dome. In considerable Avy conditions, this section can pose a runoff threat for those riding in the apron. Descend through more mild and open trees down to the gully. Be prepared for a long gully wash runout that may be more dangerous than the run itself.
