Anthology - Prescott Peak (10,693') Map

Anthology can be accessed from the summit or directly climbed from Davis Canyon. Both will require a rope to overcome a narrow, near-vertical, choke mid couloir.

Description

From the head of Davis Canyon, the entrance to Anthology isn't fully visible. Ascend the headwall past the entrance to the obvious Crecent Couloir.

Once in the Anthology Couloir, straight-forward snow climbing will bring you to a narrow, near-vertical, choke. In early spring, this choke contains a pitch of WI-3. Only the first 20m are steep, however, water ice can continue above the corner/slab for another 30m until the choke opens into the hanging couloir above. Once beyond the choke, steep snow climbing brings you to a final narrow chimney and cornice directly at the summit.

On the descent, with some downclimbing at the top of the choke, a 30m rappel can be acheived from a piton anchor on the east wall just above the WI-3 step.
