This easy to moderate hike offers great views without a ton of work. There's some minor boulder scrambling to keep things interesting but the elevation gain isn't too tough. This is the Big Chief Trail which goes to the east summit. An easier climb with better views than the Black Mountain Cliffs Trail to the wooded west summit. Access the trailhead from Black Mountain Road. There is a small parking area across the street from the trailhead.
