This is a 3.3 mile out and back hike in which you'll steadily climb 1,373'' in elevation.
Description
At the summit, you'll be treated to views of Moosehead Lake and neighboring Lily Bay Mountains, but tall trees obscure some of the view. There is a fire tower but there's no stairs for climbing it to get a better view.
Directions: The Number Four Mountain Trail begins off the privately-owned but publicly accessible Meadow Brook Road. From the blinking light in the center of Greenville travel north 13.1 miles on Lily Bay Road and turn right onto the Meadow Brook Road. At approximately 14.8 miles, turn left. At approximately 17.2 miles bear left. The trailhead is on the right approximately 500’-600’ ahead. A temporary parking area is another 500’-600’ ahead on the right, just past a small bridge over Lagoon Brook.
