Double Barrel is one of the most fun lines in Oakes Gulf, if you're willing to put in the time it takes to get there. There's a few options for approaching Oakes. For this line, your best bet is Monroe Brook. Ascend Monroe Brook, then circumnavigate around Mount Monroe. Descend the south ridge until you find the top. Double Barrel has two options, skiers right is narrow with a rocky choke, while skiers left is more mellow with more room for turns. Both chutes end below treeline, from there, you can ascend a nearby bowl to exit Oakes Gulf. Once in the Monroe-Washington Col, you can linkup with Monroe Brook again.
