This line is a great first lap in Oakes Gulf. It offers great turns, amazing views and an easy exit, lacking the typical bushwhack out that make other lines very committing. The line can be a little tricky to find from above, but it's only a short walk from Lake Of The Clouds, so it shouldn’t take too much time. Look for a low angle drainage gully above a blind roll. Drop in and make a few low angle turns before cresting over a convex roll. Here, the line opens up with steep, sweeping turns that abruptly stop at treeline. The fun is over as soon as it starts, but it's short nature lends itself to a second (third, fourth..) lap. This could even be a fun location to set up a little kicker in the spring. While this run is a short lap, the convex roll that makes for such interesting skiing, also makes it a classic avalanche start zone, and the tree gully below forms a classic terrain trap. Better to wait for stable conditions than chance it.
