Mt. Cardigan - Alexandria & Kimball Ski Trails Map

A classic New England ski trail if there ever was one. Starting from the parking lot of the AMC Cardigan Lodge, take the Manning trail to the Holt trail about 2 miles in. At the bottom of the Alexandria Ski Trail, take a left and cut through the Cathedral Forest Trail on your way to the Holt trail that will end at the summit which is unprotected, and often wind-scoured. Descending through the snowfields and into the trees, the Alexandria Ski Trail is the best way down. The trail is very tight through the top section of woods, but it opens up nicely into a series of moderate to challenging pitches. When you see the sign for the Kimball Ski Trail, put your skins back on and head to the right. After a short climb, you can descend the rest of the way back to the parking lot.
