The Trail of the Cedars is located in the Newhalem Campground area of North Cascades National Park. The trailhead is easily accessible from the parking lot near the Newhalem Visitor Center, making it convenient to reach from Highway 20.

Description

The trail winds through a pristine old-growth forest dominated by towering Western red cedar trees, some of which are hundreds of years old. As you walk along the trail, you'll be surrounded by the majestic beauty of these ancient giants, with their massive trunks and lush green foliage creating a serene and awe-inspiring atmosphere.

The trail features several picturesque bridges that span crystal-clear creeks and streams, and these bridges offer scenic viewpoints and add to the overall charm of the trail. In addition, you'll find interpretive signs that provide information about the ecology, history, and significance of the old-growth forest ecosystem.
