Carkeek Park Loop Map

Carkeek park “offers extraordinary views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains,” according to Seattle.gov. This 220-acre park is home to beautiful views of the sound, meadows, wetlands, creeks, and of course, twisty trails that are perfect for trail running!

Description

While a plethora of cross-trails provide many different possible route combinations, and an out-and-back up some of the valleys can add distance, this standard loop through the park that roughly follows the perimeter still forms a respectable 2-mile run. For maximum distance, tack on an out-and-back on Piper’s Orchard Trail to Piper’s Creek Trail.

If you are indeed heading out after work, try to time your run to conclude at the beach at sunset. The views of the setting sun over the sound are simply sublime! If your run hasn’t obliterated your workday stress, an epic sunset is guaranteed to put you at ease.
