North Fork Mountain Trail Map

This ridgeline trail follows the southeast erosional escarpment of Wills Mountain Anticline. The Tuscarora sandstone holds up this SE dipping limb of the WMA and offers frequent incredible NW views across Germany Valley, Seneca Rocks, Allegheny Front, Spruce Knob and beyond.

Description

Making the hike south to north preferable due to this route direction following the plunging direction of Wills Mountain Anticline. Only reliable source of water is at approximate half way point, with questionable levels in lower impoundment from seasonal springs. Plan to carry at least two days water from start during dry season.

South end parking is sparse at crest on Rt 33 where just a few spaces are available. North end TH lot just past bridge over North Fork River offers more spots and overflow onto Smoke hole Rd is often used.

North end of route on map is slightly truncated due to user error double clicking route end too soon. ;)
