Hatchery Creek Beginner Loop Map

The Hatchery Creek trails are some of the oldest singletrack trails close to the town of Hayward. In recent years, CAMBA has re-worked the portions of the Hatchery Creek singletrack close to the trailhead, transforming it into a flowy machine-built mountain bike wonderland!

Description

This refreshed trail now provides the perfect opportunity to give a new rider their first taste of singletrack mountain biking. The singletrack is butter-smooth and provides a delightful kinesthetic flow. It's also almost entirely flat, and at just 2.4 miles, the distance is short enough for anyone to make it.

While the trail is almost entirely flat, it has just enough climbing on the way out to create a mellow descent back down to the trailhead. The "downhill" is just enough to give beginners a taste of the fun and flow that mountain biking can provide.

If you haven't had enough after just 2.4 miles, you can definitely head out and ride the loop again! Or, if you want to help the beginner rider get more confident moving around on the bike, head over to the nearby pumptrack and skills park to practice basic bike handling skills.
