Description

Vast mountain panoramas, multi-time host of the Alpine Skiing World Championships and its great snow reliability have put Schladming firmly on the winter sports map.

Sitting high up in the Alps of northwestern Austria, with a direct train from Salzburg, Schladming makes for a great weekend ski trip destination, and its multi-day ski pass includes many other nearby areas if you’re wanting to explore further afield by car.

The main Schladming resort is comprised of 4 mountains with a total 230km of pistes, and a 1159m descent, all of it is linked by a free shuttle bus service, so the skiing options are enormous. Each ski area has something for everyone, but you’ll find the most adventurous and challenging terrain on Planai.

This guidebook contains 3 awesome tours for experienced skiers who want to venture off-piste. For a ski tour through a secluded valley, try the “Magic Valley - Kaiblingloch - Dürrenbachtal” adventure.
