Description
Nestled in the mountainous Styria region of northwestern Austria, Schladming is famous for hosting the biggest names in international skiing, its snow- rich Austrian winters and countless great north-facing slopes.
The resort consists of 4 linked mountains, with a decent 230km of groomed pistes and an impressive 1,159m of descent from the top of the resort to the bottom. Expert skiers should head straight to Planai, which hosted the FIS Alpine Skiing World Championships in 1982 and 2013, and boasts many tantalizing challenges both on and off-piste.
For a steep run through emerald forests, try the Tree Run Hochwurzen adventure. If you’re wanting to test your control on some short and speedy couloirs, then go for Couloirs from Hauser Kaibling Ridge.
