Rohnenspitze Ski-Tour Map

A ski-tour that starts in Austria and takes you up to the top of Rohnenspitze (1990m) on the border with Germany.

Description

Start at the Zöblen lift parking and follow the field up to the right-hand side. You will continue up through the trees before emerging on the ridge-line.

Follow this long ridge (which becomes steeper and will require some kick-turns) up to the summit. The ridge is spectacular and as you ascend the views of the surrounding area improve with every metre.

From the top of the Rohnenspitze you are treated to great views of the Tannheim valley and the Allgäu and Tyrolean Alps. The view to the south is particularly spectacular and connoisseurs of the Tyrol will be able to pick out some of the region's better known mountains.

There are a few descent options - the steep north face (great when the snow is good) or following the ridge line back down where you ascended (not so steep). Whichever option you choose, ski back to the Zöblen lift parking and then head to one of the guesthouses in Zöblen village to toast your day!
