Just a few steps further away from the Inntal - the main valley in Tirol where the city of Innsbruck is located - you can already access wonderful mountains which, even if not that outstanding in terms of altitude, often offer fluffy snow and amazing skiing thanks to the continental weather in this area. So - whether you are living in the area or you are just here visiting Innsbruck for an active holiday - this tour is a really good option for a short mission. The tour starts from Innerst (not too far from Wattens) and this is where you can park the car, get your skis ready and make all the safety checks before entering the backcountry.

Now, the route follows a really mellow forest road into a quite dense, north facing and magical forest which will lead you almost to the top of the tour. The forest gets less and less dense as you gain altitude - you will enjoy some nice turns in between the wide trees here at the top part.

From where the forest ends to the very top, not much is left - when conditions are sketchy you could decide to stop here and, eventually, keep looping for a few runs in the top section of the woods. The terrain is accessible to everyone and some natural features here and there will also satisfy the most experienced of riders.

Once the forest has been skied, you need to traverse back to get to the car through the same forest road used for the climb. After that it's time to pack and head back to a warm lunch in town!

Slopes become slightly steeper at around 25-30 degrees.
