Only slightly harder than Challenger, this is a super fun and easy descent down Silver Star mountain. If you're looking for a trail with just enough technicality to feel like "real" mountain biking, but not enough that you're going to have to think too much - this is your route. It's an ideal way to start a day of riding the Comet Express and sits right on the boundary between FATMAP's "Moderate" and "Difficult" grades. We've gone for the lower option of the 2, but bear in mind that it's at the upper end of that scale.

Description

The trail shares a start with LTG but branches off into an independent line as Silver Star mountain steepens and rolls down towards the distant valley floor below. None of it is technical and there are virtually no roots/rocks/obstacles for the entire ride down. The trail is never scary, never difficult, and always fun! The only "obstacles" of note are a couple of small (20cm) drops which don't require you to take any air and can simply be rolled over.

At several points this trail crosses ski pistes and it also intersects the Cross Mountain Trail, so be aware that there may be pedestrians close to the trail at times, and moderate your speed accordingly. Other than the brief sections where you're thinking about avoiding people on hiking trails you can simply enjoy this fun cruise down the hill. There aren't many trails quite as easy as this one about, but if you enjoyed it and want to up the difficulty ever so slightly then check out LTG next!
