Once a ‘secret’ spot, this area has now become well known and as a result if you want to get it untracked you have to get there soon after a storm or while it’s snowing. Pré du Bois is series of steep dynamic tree lines that like to be skied fast and non-stop. There is enough variation in the terrain that you can ski a lot of the slope in the air, plunging into the snow momentarily to check your speed. When you put a good run together here it feels effortless and because of the steepness of the slope, the more snow there is the better it gets (avalanche risk aside of course). To get there, turn right at the top of the Pré du Bois button lift and follow the ridgeline to the trees. Stay on the ridge heading down and left through the trees. This will take you above a small (5 metre) cliff and to a clearly defined forest path. From the path there are a series of lines through the trees that get progressively steeper the further left you go, culminating in a couloir just to the left of a defined ridge heading down slope. All the lines end up on the Bois piste which you can follow to the bottom of the Pré du Bois button lift, before heading back up for another run.
Severe
Steep skiing at 38-45 degrees. This requires very good technique and the risk of falling has serious consequences.
