This is a popular ski touring route which is generally considered to be difficult. It's remote, it features medium exposure (e2) and is typically done between March and April. From a low point of 1.7 km to the maximum altitude of 3.3 km, the route covers 8.5 km, 1636 vertical metres of ascent and 12 vertical metres of descent. It's graded 3.1 and Labande grade 4. You'll need skins and crampons to complete it safely.

Description

Follow the trail to the Sella Hut. Pass the hut and follow the river bed of the Grand Loson torrent for a short while.Gain the Col des Raies Noires via the obvious slope. Last meters are a bit steeper - attention for snow conditions / avalanches in this section.
