Saint Barthélemy - Tsa de Fontaney Express Map

Tsa de Fontaney Express is a trail just over 4km long, starting from the small village of Lignan (1633m) and ending at Alpe Tsa de Fontaney (2307m), therefore with a progressive difference in altitude of +674 meters. The road starts immediately steep for an asphalted stretch, which leads us to observe on our left the astronomical observatory of Saint Barthélemy. We continue straight until we reach a first alpine pasture, from here the path starts to be a bit steeper, we pass two more alpine pastures until we are at the entrance of the wood, where it starts to level off. Past the small stretch of trees we will cut a ridge until we reach two small buildings and the first red sign indicating the Tsa de Fontaney Express with the number 5. We continue our walk entering again the wood, here the snow cover is flat until we meet two other red signs, one indicating the number 5 and the other number 6, that is the Tsa de Fontaney Classic, shorter path that starts from the Nordic Ski & Trekking Center of Saint Barthélemy (1.960 m). Having passed it, we are faced with the last km on a steep climb in a landscape that is nothing short of stupendous, we are surrounded by white snow and peaks, it seems as if we are in lunar territory, thanks to this breathtaking view the accumulated fatigue will disappear until the arrival of our Tsa de Fontaney.
