The Tour of Lago di Ledro Map

This hike is about as easy as they come but the rewards for your minimal effort in doing it are extremely high. Being circular the route can be started and finished anywhere you choose, but it's drawn here starting from Molina because that is the first point you reach when driving up from Lake Garda, the place from where most people arrive at Lago di Ledro. It can also be done in either direction. The whole route can be completed with a pushchair/buggy and there are no obstacles at all.

Description

Park up and start the hike by following the road briefly as it heads northwards then dropping off left onto a good path that goes down to the lakeshore just before the Minimarket Inbesta shop. Follow the path south of the Camping Al Sole and over a lovely bridge to a point at which the path cuts away from the lake and crosses the main road to reach the treeline. From where it meets the tree line there is a nice, mellow descent into the traditional village of Mezzolago. Go through Mezzolago and once again cross the main road back down to the lakeshore. Follow the path as it winds north-west to a couple of campsites, a supermarket and a guesthouse on the edge of Pieve di Ledro village. Stopping off at the guesthouse for a drink is not a bad idea at all...

Head south past 2 campsites and then into a beautiful section of woods. The path traverses through these woods and then emerges in the tiny hamlet of Pur. From here on out the walk is on a road all the way back to Molina, which isn't ideal but it's less than 45 minutes and is still very scenic and enjoyable.

All in all, this is the ideal family day out, or just a lovely cruise for those lacking the enthusiasm for anything remotely difficult!
